Scholarship terms and recipient responsibilities
- Award amount: $24,000 distributed as $3,000 each semester for up to four years.
- Institution: Recipients must enroll at and attend an accredited college or university.
- Enrollment status: Recipients are required to register as full‑time students carrying at least twelve (12) credit hours per semester or quarter unless they receive prior written approval from the AGA Scholarship Committee before the term begins.
- Academic standards: Recipients must earn a minimum GPA of C+ (2.4/4.0) during their freshman year and at least B‑ (2.8/4.0) in each subsequent year. Copies of grades must be sent to the Alabama Golf Association’s Manager of Golf Operations and Championships immediately after each term; acceptable delivery methods include email, fax or postal mail.
- Pre‑college reporting: Before starting college, the recipient must provide the AGA with the college name, student ID number, the contact person and address for the Financial Aid Office, and the tuition due date. The recipient must also sign a release at the college Registrar’s Office permitting the AGA Scholarship Committee to obtain academic reports.
- Residency: Recipients must remain bona fide residents of the State of Alabama until college graduation.
- Notification of changes: Any updates to home address, phone number, current school address, major, graduation date, or any change of college (including transfers or withdrawals) must be reported immediately to the AGA Manager of Golf Operations and Championships.
- Late graduation: If a recipient will not graduate as scheduled, they must submit a written explanation and request for an extension to the AGA Manager of Golf Operations and Championships. Extensions require approval by the AGA Scholarship Committee and are not granted automatically.
- Participation: While not mandatory, recipients are encouraged to speak at or take part in AGA or scholarship-related events when invited.
- Revocation: Scholarships may be withdrawn if a recipient no longer demonstrates financial need or fails to follow AGA Scholarship policies.
- Confidentiality: All submitted materials will be treated as confidential by AGA staff and the Scholarship Committee.
Eligibility criteria
Candidates must:
- Be graduates of an accredited secondary school who have demonstrated academic achievement, good citizenship, sportsmanship, and community involvement.
- Demonstrate financial need to pursue undergraduate study.
- Have an interest in the game of golf.
- Be a bona fide resident of the State of Alabama.

- Complete the online application in full. Applications open at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, October 31, 2025, and close at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
