Eligibility
Applicants to the Goya Foods Culinary Arts Scholarship Program must satisfy all of the following requirements:
1. Enrollment and Major
- Be incoming freshmen for the 2026–27 academic year, entering an accredited two-year or four-year college or university as a full-time student.
- Intend to major in Culinary Arts or Food Sciences (full-time).
- Students who begin at a two-year junior or community college must plan to transfer to a four-year institution to complete a bachelor’s degree in order to be eligible for the full scholarship maximum of $20,000.
2. Citizenship / Immigration Status
- Be one of the following: a U.S. citizen, a lawful permanent resident, or a student approved under Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).
- U.S. citizens: submit a copy of a birth certificate, U.S. passport, certificate of citizenship, or naturalization certificate.
- Permanent residents: submit a copy of a current permanent resident card (Green Card) or a passport stamped I‑551.
- DACA recipients: submit a copy of their DACA approval letter.
3. Academic Standing
- Maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
4. Degree Status
- Be seeking their first undergraduate degree.
5. Family Connection
- Children of Goya employees, brokers, or independent drivers are eligible, provided they meet all other stated requirements.
6. Community Service Commitment
- Agree to perform 10 hours of community service per month; service hours will be recorded and monitored by Scholarship America.
