Introduction
Better Brothers Los Angeles (BBLA) provides financial support to Black LGBTQ+ young people to help cover the costs of college and related academic expenses. Funds are available to individuals who have been accepted to or are currently enrolled in an accredited degree program, licensing track, or vocational certificate program. Scholarship awards — intended to assist with tuition, textbooks, and other school-related costs — range from $1,000 to $5,000. Recipients are honored at the annual Truth Awards Ceremony. To date, BBLA has awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships.
