AAUW-Lew Williams & Joan Odud Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by AAUW Freehold (NJ) Branch
One or more Scholarships of $2000 are awarded for an academic year for women in undergraduate or graduate degree programs. Named for outstanding volunteers, funding for the Lew Williams and Joan Odud Scholarships is contingent upon the amounts raised by the annual June AAUW Book Sale in Freehold, NJ.
Each year, Applications are accepted from January to July for the following academic school year. The deadline for applying for scholarships is July 31, each year.
SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
Scholarships of $2,000 for the academic year 2024-2025 are available from the Freehold Branch of AAUW for qualified applicants. Named for outstanding volunteers, funding for the Lew Williams and Joan Odud Scholarships is contingent upon the amounts raised by the annual June AAUW Book Sale in Freehold, NJ.
Please read the following instructions carefully. Applications that do not meet the eligibility criteria below will not be reviewed by the AAUW Freehold Branch Scholarship Committee.
ELIGIBILITY
- Women 25 years and older
- Resident of Monmouth or Middlesex Counties
- Will be enrolled at accredited schools in accredited programs in the school year 2024-2025
- Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program having completed a minimum of 60 credits, with a minimum GPA of “B.”
OR
- Enrolled in a graduate program having completed a minimum of 6 credits, with a minimum
- GPA of B.

A completed application, official transcript(s), and two letters of recommendation must have been received by July 31, 2024. Please ask references to send their letters of recommendation directly to freeholdaauwscholarships@gmail.com. Previous scholarship winners are not eligible to apply. Applicants will be notified in August. The award check will be made out to the school.
