Rise Above Scholarship

Scholarship Sponsored by Silberman & Lam LLP

Value: $1,000
Awards Available: 5
Deadline : Dec 01, 2025

Being part of a team striving for a shared objective is an exhilarating experience. Employment in a reputable company fosters crucial values and nurtures individuals both socially and professionally. At Silberman & Lam LLP, we champion the rights of the ordinary worker. Our firm specializes in Workers’ Compensation law, adept at pinpointing situations where employers exploit their employees. Frequently, employees are not aware of their rights, enabling supervisors or executives to misuse their work and time.

Consequently, we established the Rise Above Scholarship to gather insights from students nationwide about any comparable experiences that have shaped them. As a firm dealing with workers’ compensation, we anticipate this scholarship will foster meaningful conversations among students, empowering them as employees. We invite individuals to recount an instance when they were exploited as employees, interns, or team members. How did this experience influence your professional interactions with those involved? Has your experience equipped you to identify potential or existing employment pitfalls? How did a challenging professional circumstance eventually become a positive one, and what lessons did you glean from it?

The cut-off date for this scholarship application is December 31, 2025. After receiving all applications, they will be evaluated, and five students will be chosen to each receive a $1,000 award.
