GRASP Virginia Community College Pathway Scholarships

Overview
GRASP will provide $1,000 scholarships to selected students for their first year at a Virginia community college. Awards are eligible for renewal for a second year, provided the recipient remains in the same credential or transfer program. Recipients must enroll at a Virginia Community College either to earn a career certificate or with the intention of transferring to a Virginia four-year public or private institution (many of which participate in Guaranteed Admissions Agreements with the community colleges).
Who may apply
Applicants must meet all of the following conditions:
- Have met with the high school GRASP advisor and developed a post‑secondary plan.
- Maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative high school GPA.
- Be on track to graduate from high school in spring 2026.
- Have submitted the FAFSA or the Virginia Alternative State Aid (VASA) application.
- Demonstrate financial need as shown by a Student Aid Index (SAI) of $12,000 or less on the FAFSA or VASA.
- Plan to attend a Virginia Community College to complete a career certificate or to prepare to transfer to a Virginia four‑year institution. Application materials and submission instructions
- Complete the scholarship application via the Google Form. Be sure to click “send” to submit.
- An essay is required; the prompt and upload option are included in the Google Form.
- Provide a complete Student Submission Summary from the FAFSA, or a statement confirming that you completed the VASA. The Student Submission Summary can be downloaded from fafsa.gov; the VASA is completed at vasaapp.org.
- You may submit the application before the Student Submission Summary is available, but your application will not be considered final until the summary is provided.
Deadline
All application materials must be submitted by April 1, 2026.
