Texas Conditional Grant Program

Overview
The Conditional Grant Program supports eligible students enrolled in engineering programs or in operational business disciplines approved by TxDOT. Awards are available to students attending accredited four-year colleges and universities in Texas—both public and private. Recipients may receive up to $4,000 per semester (maximum $8,000 per academic year), with actual award amounts determined by demonstrated financial need.

Eligibility
To be considered for the Conditional Grant Program, applicants must meet all of the following:
- Meet the Federal Poverty Guidelines definition of economically disadvantaged.
- Be a Texas resident and authorized to work in the United States.
- Have at least one of the following academic benchmarks:
- High school GPA of 2.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or
- SAT score of 900 or higher, or
- ACT score of 21 or higher.
- Plan to enroll full time at an accredited four-year college or university in Texas (public or private).
- Intend to pursue a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or in an operational business field approved by TxDOT.
- Commit to work for TxDOT for two years immediately after graduation.
- Be current on court-ordered or written-plan child support payments (no more than 30 days past due).
