Life Lessons Scholarship Program
Scholarship Sponsored by Life Happens
College costs are a heavy burden for many American families — and the loss of a parent with little or no life insurance can make paying for higher education far more difficult. Life insurance serves as a critical financial safety net, yet over 100 million Americans lack coverage and most who do carry far less than is generally recommended.
To honor the resilience of young people who have faced this hardship, Life Happens runs the annual Life Lessons Scholarship Program for current college students and college-bound high school seniors. Eligible applicants submit essays or videos describing how a parent’s death affected their lives for a chance to receive scholarship funds. To date, the program has awarded more than $3.7 million in college scholarships.
Applications are accepted each year from February 1 to March 1.
