Introduction
The American Culinary Federation Education Foundation (ACFEF), in partnership with the American Academy of Chefs (AAC), awards a limited number of scholarships each year to students pursuing culinary careers. Scholarship funding is made possible through contributions from members and industry partners, along with several named funds.
Scholarship awards
- Apprenticeship programs: awards up to $1,500
- Certificate programs: awards up to $1,500
- Postsecondary degree programs: awards up to $2,500

Important dates
Applications are accepted twice a year. Deadlines are April 30 and October 31.
Who is eligible
Applicants must:
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Be currently accepted to an accredited institution and be enrolled in a culinary, pastry, or foodservice-related program.
How applications are reviewed
- A scholarship selection committee evaluates applications using a point-based system.
- Points are awarded for factors that include GPA, participation in culinary competitions, volunteer service in culinary-related activities, and involvement with ACF.
- Applicants will receive email notification of awards or denials within 30 business days after the applicable deadline.
- Students who still require financial assistance are encouraged to submit applications in subsequent years.
- ACFEF reserves the right to revoke any award at any time if recipients fail to maintain satisfactory academic progress or are found to have submitted false information.
